Charity Fundraiser for the RNIB

Release Date: 05 July 2010

David Reid (Bondeye Optical) and Anne McCormack (Macuvision Europe Ltd) travelled down to Hinton airfield on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd July to raise money for the RNIB through a sponsored skydive. Between them, they hit their targets, raising a huge £2500.

After the jump, they both said that it went brilliantly and they loved every second of it. David commented that he was nervous the evening before the jump, but then that vanished with the adrenaline and the realisation that once in the plane the only way back to ground was out the door.

Anne was truly nervous on the build up to the jump,  and as someone with a fear of heights, this was a spectacular feat for her to accomplish.

“On the day we arrived in Bracknell (Oxfordshire), the sun was shining and conditions were perfect. The longer we waited, the more impatient we became, as we just wanted to jump!

The RNIB is close to both David and Anne as both work within the optical industry. "Its great to be able to raise money for them and help a truly worthwhile cause" says David who did the 1st level of the solo skydivers freefall course. "It was such a fantastic feeling, I am definately considering taking the next level to be able to jump solo without instructors"
